The only main challenge with this method is knowing the right amount of pressure to apply, as too much pressure can ruin the entire effect. Furthermore, using fingers can create some material deposit, so be sure to blow on the drawing regularly.
The next alternative to blending fingers is to use a paper towel. It is a bit less challenging than using your fingers. However, there is also a downside. The blending will not be as thorough when compared with using fingers.
Lastly, you can also consider blurring or blending with a brush. This creates a more diffuse effect than the other two methods. This is because the pigment is spread out more evenly with a brush. Finally, with all three techniques, make sure to use a circular motion for the best results.
